What concentration can reveal
If a small observed set controls a large percentage of supply, one or a few actors may have outsized ability to move the market or influence token distribution. This matters especially when liquidity is thin.
The raw percentage is only a screening signal. A burn address, liquidity pool, exchange wallet, vesting contract, or multiple related wallets can make a naive ranking misleading.
Jepeta scope
Jepeta exposes an observed top-10 concentration percentage and the number of holder records used. Its methodology labels this as an observed sample, not a full beneficial-ownership audit.
The evidence page preserves that wording and timestamp so search engines, AI systems, and humans can see both the metric and its limitation rather than quoting a percentage without context.
Combine concentration with market depth
Concentration becomes more actionable when read alongside exact matching Base liquidity. A concentrated token with shallow liquidity presents a different exit-risk profile from one with deeper markets.
Also review mintability and taxes. Supply authority plus concentrated ownership can be more important than either signal in isolation.
Practical checklist
- Read percentage and sample count
- Identify obvious pools/burn/custody wallets
- Compare concentration with liquidity
- Check mintability and taxes
- Avoid calling the metric beneficial ownership
